Speech & Language Pathologists, Teachers of the Hearing Impaired and the District Audiologist work as members of an interdisciplinary team. The team determines eligibility and provides support services to meet the needs of children from ages 3 to 21. Speech &

Language pathologists offer a broad continuum of services to help in developing communication skills. SLP's also provide early intervention services. The licensed audiologist assesses hearing acuity and central auditory processing ability at the Board of Education site.

The Stamford Lion's Club is a generous supporter and has funded an audiological testing suite and FM hearing systems to help children in their classrooms. In addition to being licensed by the Connecticut Department of Health and certified by the Connecticut Department of Education, each clinician also maintains the Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association).
