SIFE (Students with Interrupted Formal Education)

ENTRY CRITERIA

• Two or more "yes" answers in the Home Language Survey upon arrival
• 6th to 12th grades
• two or more years of interrupted schooling as demonstrated by:
• guidance counselor transcript evaluation
• native language assessment
• new comer interview

EXIT CRITERIA

• one successful year in the program measuring students' growth in English Language, Math, Science and Social Studies Content Knowledge.
• upon completion of the first year best placement of student in the mainstream with ESL and sheltered academic support
