| BILINGUAL PROGRAM K-12 |
In the Bilingual self-contained classroom the teacher resorts to the students’ native language for clarification and native language literacy development as needed. However, due to NCLB requirements instruction is delivered in English. The development of English language skills and the acquisition of academic vocabulary is central to this model. The bilingual program meets the needs of limited English proficient students whose dominant language is Spanish or Haitian Creole. The program parallels the mainstream curriculum. The main language of instruction is English with native language support. |

| ESL K-12 |
The ESL class serves all English Language Learners. The amount of ESL instruction is based on the student’s English proficiency. The ELL teacher uses second language acquisition strategies to teach the English and Language Arts at the elementary and English language development at the secondary level. |

| NEW ARRIVALS 1-12 |
A program designed to provide intensive support to newly arrived immigrants. It is a self-contained concept where students spend a maximum of one academic year. Newcomer students will transition to the mainstream and the ESL Program after mastering basic English skills as needed. |

| SIFE 8-12 |
Students who experienced interruption in their formal education for 2 or more years will qualify for the program. The emphasis of the SIFE program is on the development of literacy skills and academic content. |

| SHELTERED CLASSES |
It is an approach of teaching content to English Language Learners that help them achieve high standards. Specific teaching strategies are utilized to make content comprehensible. |
