New Nation 1 and 2 Westward Expansion Civil War | All About Me (K) Children will show an understanding of themselves and their own culture Families (K)Children will analyze different types of families Neighborhoods (1) Children will be cognizant of the culture of the people in their neighborhood Community (1) Children will be aware of the people in their community City of Stamford (2) Children will learn about the city of Stamford State of Connecticut (2) Children will learn about the state of Connecticut Regions of the US (2) Children will recognize different American cultures through a study of the six regions of the United States Multicultural Mosaic 1 (3) Children will interpret the influence and history a variety of cultures have had on the history of the American continent Multicultural Mosaic 2 (3) Children will discuss immigration in an American city Native Americans (3) Children will recognize the differences and similarities among Native Americans in the Woodland, Southwest, and Northwest Explorers (4) Children will analyze how early societies in America have influenced our culture Colonial Period (4) Children will analyze the political, social, religious, and economic aspects of the American Experience.
American Revolution (4) Children will recognize the need and desire of American colonists to change its culture. The New Nation (5) Children will recognize the influence of other cultures on the American culture of today.
Westward Expansion (5) Children will discuss the causes of territorial expansion.
Civil War (5) Children will analyze how social, economic, and cultural differences between the North and the South contributed to the onset of the Civil War. |
