Summer School
T he Stamford Board of Education has made a significant commitment to providing consistent summer school instruction that directly relates to district goals to increase academic achievement of all students, address the achievement gap, and increase the meaningful engagement of all families in the community. Partnerships with community agencies have resulted in services that align academic instruction with recreational activities. The dates for the 2008 elementary program are July 7-31, 2008. The dates for the high school program are June 30 - August 8, 2008.
The goals of the Stamford Summer School Success 2008 program are: · To improve academic achievement · To enhance self-esteem · To build resiliency · To engage parents Vision and Mission The vision for the Stamford Summer School Success 2008 is of a program that is an extension of the regular school-year, children who are confident in their ability to learn, resilient in their resolve to succeed, and families who are actively engaged in the learning process. Our mission is to increase the academic achievement, self esteem, and life possibilities of elementary and high school students.
