Developing Futures seeks to create positive social change using a systemic approach that involves the entire school district, engaging central offices, teachers' organizations, teachers, students, school administrators, parents, local GE volunteers, and community members.  The program is designed to ensure that all students in the Stamford Public Schools (SPS) are college ready and have the math and science skills and knowledge to succeed in their academic pursuits and chosen careers.  The GE Foundation believes it can help young Americans secure their future by preparing them for careers in a global economy. Through Developing Futures the SPS has adopted a common, rigorous, standards-based curricula for all students in math and science and provided substantial professional development for teachers to enhance math and science content knowledge, technology skills and 21 st century skill-building. All Developing Futures activities are aligned to the SPS Strategic Plan and mission. To see frequently asked questions (FAQs) about Developing Futures, click here.
